With a primary focus in dressage, I believe good riding and training crosses all disciplines. Through ground driving or long lining I can help your horse develop the strength and suppleness to excel at any type of riding. This type of ground work is fun and easy to learn. Evaluate your horse's movement, work them correctly without the interference of a rider.
Under saddle I can assess your horse's strengths and weaknesses, giving you input for an individual schooling plan that will make your rides more productive and fun.
Schooling Plan
A typical schooling plan that can be tailored for your horse's needs and your schedule. Any or all of this work can be done by me or the owner with some instruction from me. A varied work schedule keeps your horse's interest and works different muscle groups for a more balanced, supple horse.
| Day 1 |
Round pen or Longe line. Using body language and verbal commands to school the horse I can evaluate the horse's natural tendencies. |
| Day 2 |
Under saddle 30 minute ride with or without longing prior depending on the horse. |
| Day 3 |
Double longing/long lining. This is a more intensive workout, schooling the horse deep and round, working on bending and lateral figures from the ground, cavaletti, etc. |
| Day 4 |
Fun ride, 15 minutes in the ring to warm up and then a ride around the farm and fields. |
| Day 5 |
Long line for 10-15 minutes then Schooling under saddle either by me or owner. |
| Day 6 |
Schooling ride under saddle, then a quiet walk around the farm. |
